A Steel Cut Wire Shot is developed by cutting wire into length equal to the wire's diameter. Product quality is assured by controlling chemical & physical properties inherent in the wire and by accurate sizing. All the pieces are 100% solid. The cut wire is made available in an "As-Cut" i.e. cylindrical form and in conditioned/ spherical shape.

Cut Wire Shot is the media of choice for peening, cleaning, tumbling, and vibratory finishing. It is widely used in wheel blast equipment. Available in the alloys shown above (and in others – note that if a metal can be drawn into wire, Pellets can cut it into shot or pins), our product can be purchased as-cut (cylindrical with sharp edges) or conditioned (rounded to a sphere)
Applications: Surface improvement, deburring, descaling, shot blasting, and peening of metal parts.
Specs: Available in regular spring-wire grades yielding a hardness of 45 to 52 HRC and in special high-carbon grades of 55 to 62 HRC. We can supply Carbon Steel Cut Wire Shot to meet AMS 2431/3 and 2431/8 aerospace specifications.
